Former Bangladesh cricket team coach Richard Pybus arrived in Dhaka Tuesday to appear for an interview for the vacant post of the Tigers’ head coach.
BCB director and media and communications committee chairman Jalal Younus confirmed that Pybus will give an interview to the board president Nazmul Hasan and CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury Wednesday morning.
“Pybus arrived [Tuesday] evening. He will sit with the BCB president and CEO at around 11:30pm [Wednesday] morning. He will discuss his plan regarding the head coach post of Bangladesh cricket,” Jalal said to the media.
BCB cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan informed that there are three-four more candidates vying for the post and that a decision will be taken only after discussing with everyone.
“Pybus is a short-listed candidate for the post of new coach. We don’t want to hurry as we want to hire our new coach for the next two-three years,” Akram told the media Tuesday.
“It is hard to comment whether he will be selected or not as we have three-four more candidates. We will discuss with every candidate and then analyse their presentation. The decision will be made after discussion,” he said.
Pybus took the responsibility of Bangladesh on June 20, 2012 after Stuart Law’s resigned from his post. He was contracted for two years at that time. But he resigned from his post after just five months.
