
Comilla Victorians rose to the top of the BPL 2017 points table after beating holder Dhaka Dynamites by 12 runs at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium Wednesday.
Asked to bat first, Comilla posted 167 for the loss of six wickets in their stipulated 20 overs with No 4 batsman Marlon Samuels top-scoring with 39 off 27 balls, featuring five fours and two sixes.
The West Indies’ Kevon Cooper was the best bowler for Dhaka, bagging three wickets conceding 42 runs from his quota of four overs.
In reply, Dhaka managed 155 losing eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs, England’s Joe Denly scoring the highest 49 off 39 deliveries, including half a dozen boundaries and a couple of sixes.
Seamer and player of the match Dwayne Bravo picked up three wickets giving away 31 runs from his four overs.
Comilla lead the points table with 14 points from nine matches while Dhaka are third with 11 points from 10 games.
