In the tier one game between Dhaka and Barisal in Khulna, the former, after batting first ended the opening day’s play on 231 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 90 overs at stumps with opener Rony Talukdar top-scoring with a patient 68 off 224 balls, featuring five fours.
Lower-order batsmen Taibur Rahman (46) and Mohammad Sharif (41) also chipped in with vital contributions.
Barisal’s Tanvir Islam, Salman Hossain and Monir Hossain shared six wickets between themselves.
In the other tier one match between Khulna and Rangpur in Rajshahi, the former, who were asked to take first guard, registered 77/3 in 22.2 overs before rain intervened.
National discard Anamul Haque was unbeaten on a 76-ball 47, including seven fours and a six.
Meanwhile in tier two, Dhaka Metropolis put up 236/3 in 90 overs against Chittagong in the port city.
Batting first, Dhaka Metro are in the driving seat after day one with national discards Mehrab Hossain Jr and Mohammad Ashraful unbeaten on 75 and 54 respectively.
Earlier, openers Shamsur Rahman and Saykat Ali made 46 and 48 respectively for Dhaka Metro.
Iftekhar Sajjad was the most successful Chittagong bowler with two wickets.
There was absolutely no play in the other tier two game between Rajshahi and Sylhet in Bogra due to persistent rainfall and wet outfield.
