Middle-order batsmen Mehedi Hasan and Tushar Imran starred with the willow in what was a rain-hit opening day in round two of the 19th National Cricket League Friday.
Riding on the duo’s centuries, Khulna, batting first, posted 348 runs for the loss of three wickets in 90 overs against Barisal in Khulna.
Mehedi was unbeaten on 165 off 261 balls, featuring 15 fours and two sixes, while Tushar made a 196-ball 132, including 16 boundaries and a sixer.
The other tier one game between Dhaka and Rangpur in Bogra saw no action whatsoever due to rain.
In tier two, the match between Dhaka Metropolis and Sylhet followed a similar script to that of Dhaka-Rangpur as no play was possible owing to rain.
In the other tier two game between Chittagong and Rajshahi in Rajshahi, the former, asked to bat first by the latter registered 67/2 in 43 overs as rain wrecked havoc yet again.
Mahbubul Karim made 22.
