The fifth edition of the BPL T20 will have no opening ceremony this year.
According to sources, the BPL governing council has instead decided to donate the funds to the flood affected people.
The BPL 4 had no opening ceremony either last year.
It was also learned that the money-spinning tournament will get underway on November 3 in Sylhet, instead of a day earlier.
With the inclusion of Surma Sylhet Sixers, BPL was supposed to be played with eight teams this season.
But Barisal Bulls failed to fulfill financial requirements and were ruled out from the glitzy tournament.
