The BCB on Thursday announced a 24-member High Performance squad for a training camp. The camp is set to begin at the BCB National Cricket Academy in Mipur on Tuesday.
The occasion will be the first that the national cricketers, both current and discards, have been made part of the HP squad. This was done with the intention of preparing the cricketers for the series' against Australia and South Africa later this year.
Wicketkeeper-batsmen Anamul Haque and Liton Kumar Das and pacers Al Amin Hossain and Abu Haider Rony were included along with a group of young cricketers. At least four cricketers from the HP squad will be called up for the national camp, set to begin on July 10, for the home series against Australia and away series in South Africa.
The rest will be part of the Bangladesh A team who will tour Australia and England in order to prepare themselves for the 2019 World Cup.
Performance from the recently concluded Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2016-17 season has been taken into consideration while forming the HP squad.
The cricketers have been asked to report to the BCB NCA on Monday.
