Left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny maintained his good form with the ball and helped Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club to register their second win. Meanwhile Abahani Limited also bagged their second win of the tournament riding on Nazmul Hossain century.
On day two of Round 2, Victoria SC will face Gazi Group at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Mohammedan SC will face Kalabagan KC at BKSP 4 and Prime Bank CC is set to lock horns against Khelaghar SKS at BKSP 3.
Legends of Rupganj v SK Jamal DC
Mushfiqur Rahim and Naeem Islam’s centuries and record partnership for the third wicket laid the platform for Rupganj to seal a 68 runs victory over Sheikh Jamal at BKSP Ground 4. Going to bat first after winning the toss, Rupgonj were shaken with dismissals of the two openers with just 13 runs on the board. But Mushfiqur and Naeem gelled in the middle to remain unbeaten till the 41st over and post 225 runs partnership in the third wicket. Mushfiq scored 134 runs in as many balls with fourteen boundaries and one six. Naeem scored 103 off 118 balls with seven fours and one six. Rupganj end their innings with 305 runs losing five wickets.
Pacer Shahadat Hossain and veteran spinner Abdur Razzak shared four wickets amongst themselves for Sheikh Jamal. In reply, Sheikh Jamal could post only 237 runs before losing all wickets in 46.2 overs. Ziaur Rahman was the highest scorer with 42. Mohammad Sharif, Mosharraf Hossain, Asif Hasan and Naeem picked two wickets each for Rupganj.

Prime Doleshwar SC v Brothers Union
Riding on opener Imtiaz Hossain’s 99 and Arafat Sunny’s four-wicket haul, Prime Doleshwar sealed a four-wicket victory against Brother Union at Fatullah’s KSOAS. Brothers Union were sent to bat first and scored 246 losing nine wickets. Opener Zunaid Siddique scored 87 while other opener Mizanur Rahman added 56 to the board off 80 deliveries.
Arafat Sunny maintained his good form and picked four wickets against Brothers conceding 45 runs in 10 overs.
Chasing the target, Imtiaz added 99 from the top in 143 deliveries with nine boundaries and two over boundaries. Young Brothers pacer Noor Alam Saddam denied Imtiaz to reach the century after getting the batsman out in the 47th over. Opener Abdul Majid scored 44 during the 87 runs opening partnership with Imtiaz for Prime Doleshwar. Saddam picked three wickets for Brothers’.

Abahani Ltd v Partex Sporting Club
Abahani secure seven wickets victory over Partex SC at BKSP Ground 3 thanks to Nazmul Hossain’s unbeaten hundred and Mahmudullah’s half-century. Chasing 237 runs, Abahani lost openers Uday Kaul and Liton Kumar with 43 runs on the board but Nazmul and Mahmudullah steadied the boat with 150 runs stand for the third wicket. Mahmudullah scored 77 off just 52-ball with five boundaries and three over-boundaries. Nazmul formed an unbeaten 44 runs partnership for fourth wicket with Mosaddek Hossain to complete the chase. Nazmul remained not out on 101 off 109 with five boundaries and four over-boundaries.
Earlier Partex went to bat first after winning the toss and with unbeaten 50 from middle-order batsman Jubair Ahmed, scored 234 runs losing seven wickets. Mohammad Saifuddin and Shuvagata Hom piked two wickets each for Abahani.
