Mustafizur is set to meet his teammates in Mumbai and is likely to make his first appearance of the season at Wankhede Stadium against Mumbai Indians. The game will be Sunriser’s third in the ongoing tournament.
The Bangladesh pacer was denied from joining the start of the IPL season 10 due to his schedule with national team touring Sri Lanka. Mustafizur along with the Bangladesh team returned home on April 6. Mustafizur took some days to rest at home while his Indian visa got processed.
Mustafizur’s departure ruled out rumors of him not joining the money spinning tournament. Earlier, an India-based cricket website had claimed of Mustafiz informing of not joining the IPL 10 which the cricketer later denied.
Mustafizur looks to maintain his reputation in the tournament from last year.
“I want to do better than last year. Everyone was new to me the last season but it will be different now. The players, dressing room, the stadium all are known to me now. The experience should help me settle quickly and ease some pressure. I look to give my best if given the opportunity,” said Mustafizur.
The cutter specialist was one of key members to Sunrisers Hyderabad to lift the title in IPL season 9. Mustafizur had picked 17 wickets in 16 matches with an economy of 6.90 runs per over.
