Mashrafe revealed this during the post-match press conference after the game at Sinhalese Sports Club ground in Colombo. The ban means Mashrafe will miss the first ODI of tri-nation series against Ireland on May 12. New Zealand are the other participant.
The ban will be effective in ODIs only. So Mashrafe will be able to play the two-match T20I series against the Lankans, scheduled to be held this Tuesday and Thursday respectively.
On Saturday, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first. The Tigers finished their innings 30 minutes late from the regulation time. Mashrafe informed that hot and humid condition was the main reason behind their delay.
Meanwhile, the Lankans were also behind by four overs by the time Taskin Ahmed got dismissed. As Sri Lanka bowled Bangladesh within the limited time so their slow over rate was not counted.
