Tigers train ahead of ODI series finale
Three Tigers players from the Dambulla ODI starting XI - wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, opener Soumya Sarkar and pacer Mustafizur Rahman - trained in the morning session. Six others - pacemen Rubel Hossain and Subashish Roy, top-order batter Imrul Kayes, all-rounder Shuvagata Hom, spinner Sanjamul Islam and stumper-batsman Nurul Hasan - also joined the trio in training. Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha informed that the practice session was optional and said he wants his players to be fresh mentally and physically before the third ODI. “The thing is, we don’t need to train every day. If the players know they are prepared well enough, they can always have rest. It is very hard to play cricket in Sri Lanka. It is very hot. I want them to be mentally prepared and physically rested for the game,” said Hathurusingha after practice. Bangladesh are 1-0 ahead in the three-match series.
