Bangladesh players from the best XI, who played the Galle Test, were not seen in the practice session as they were given rest by the team management. But the remaining six players from the squad – opening batsman Imrul Kayes, middle-order batters Mosaddek Hossain and Sabbir Rahman, pace bowling duo Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Rubel Hossain and left-arm spinner Taijul Islam - took part in the practice session.
Kayes joined the squad last Saturday after being left out from the first Test squad due to injury. But he is fit now and joined the practice session straightaway following his arrival.
The players first took part in an hour-long short catching and fielding drills. Later, the three batsmen - Kayes, Sabbir and Mosaddek - padded up and went for a net session, which lasted for about an hour.
Pacers Rabbi and Rubel and spinner Taijul also sweated it out in the nets.
Bangladesh played three seamers in the Galle Test but at P Sara Oval, a change in the bowling line might be in the offing the venue's wickets generally assist the slow bowlers.
