India struggle a learning curve for Miraz
A biteless bowling attack and awful fielding mishaps saw India post 687 for six wickets before declaring their first innings. “Actually, for me, this is a good experience because we are playing against India. This was a good thing for me. The best thing was that I tried to do whatever I wanted. I bowled the way I bowled. I bowled a bit short but yes, I did what I wanted to do,” Miraz told the media after the end of the second day's play on Friday in the ongoing one-off Test match. In his maiden Test series against England at home in October last year, Miraz was sensational, taking 19 wickets in two matches. However, he has been dull compared to his calibre in the Hyderabad Test. The offie has picked up two wickets in the first innings, conceding 165 runs in 42 overs. “India play spin very well, even more so on a flat wicket. If it turns, there will be a bit of trouble but they always survive and are used to playing like this. It was not turning much when we bowled but they did face trouble when there was some random turn,” said Miraz. Virat Kohli’s record 204-run knock has been key to India’s batting at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. He became the first ever player in the history of five-day cricket to score double centuries in four straight series'. Right from the first delivery he faced, Kohli was at ease, perhaps like never before in a Test. For the 19-year-old Miraz, bowling to Kohli, who is said to be well on his way to becoming one of the modern-day cricketing greats, was another good experience. “Actually, this is a good experience. I watched him play on TV. He is a great batsman and you learn when you play against cricketers like this. I hope I will be able to take lessons from the hard work done in the field and use those lessons in my career,” Miraz explained.
