Tushar’s record-breaking 19th first class ton propels Khulna on Day 2
Centuries from Anamul Haque, Tushar Imran and Suhrawardi Shuvo marked the second day of round four of the ongoing National Cricket League 2016. In Tier 1, Anamul and Tushar guided Khulna Division post 200 runs lead in the first innings against Barisal Division while Suhrawardi Shuvo heroic in Tier 2 helped Rangpur post a mammoth total in the first innings against Chittagong. Barisal v Khulna, Tier 1 Replying to Barisal’s 171 runs in the first innings, Khulna resumed the day with overnight score of 101 for one and Anamul Haque and Tushar Imran propel the side to 371 runs in the first innings with a lead of 200 runs. At stumps on day two, Barisal trailed by 190 runs with 10 wickets remaining. Anamul resumed on 15 and took his score to 136 with 11 boundaries and six over boundaries. In the process the wicket-keeper batsman pulled up 217 runs partnership with Tushar Iman for the third wicket. Tushar with 108 runs scored his 19 first-class hundred and become the one with most first-class centuries in Bangladesh. The innings included 12 boundaries and a six. Dhaka Met v Dhaka Div, Tier 1 Dhaka Division could only manage 21 runs lead in reply to Dhaka Metro’s first innings. Losing all wickets Dhaka Division scored 187 runs in the innings having started the day on 19 for two. Batting at number three Minhaz Khan’s 43 was the highest in the innings. Shahidul Islam and Mohammad Ashraful picked three wickets each for Dhaka Metro. Dhaka Metro later batted 17.2 overs in the second innings but lost four wickets having scored only 27. Rangpur v Chittagong, Tier 2 Suhrawardi Shuvo’s 121 runs and Alauddin Babu’s 64 in the late order helped Rangpur to post a mammoth 450 runs in the first innings Right-arm pacer Mohammad Saifuddin bagged four wickets for Chittagong. In reply, Chittagong scored 82 runs losing two wickets in 32 overs. Rajshahi v Sylhet, Tier 2 Sylhet lost wickets in regular interval and post 219 runs in the first innings and take only 15 runs lead. Abul Hasan’s unbeaten 59 was the highlight in Sylhet batting while with the ball all-rounder Farhad Reza shined for Rajshahi with five-wicket haul. Later, Rajshahi batted 20 overs in the second innings and scored 92 runs for three wickets and take the lead to 77 runs.
