Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal (79) and Mominul Haque (52) put on an unbroken 136-run stand for the second wicket as Bangladesh posted 137/1 by the end of the 32nd over during the opening day’s play of the second and final Test against England at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Friday. Tamim registered his 20th Test fifty while Mominul recorded his 10th half-century to take Bangladesh to a position of authority after the early departure of opener Imrul Kayes (one) off the bowling of Chris Woakes. Earlier, captain Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and elected to bat first. All-rounder Shuvagata Hom replaced Shafiul Islam in the playing XI for the Tigers. On the other hand, England made two changes to the team from the first Test, Zafar Ansari making his debut after coming in for Gareth Batty and Steven Finn replacing the rested Stuart Broad.
