Bangladesh Cricket Board expressed profound sadness at the passing away of Abdur Rahim, father of Bangladesh spinner Arafat Sunny. Rahim breathed his last in Dhaka in the early hours of Sunday morning.
BCB extended deepest sympathies to Sunny and the other family members of the departed.
Rahim was suffering from blood sugar and gastric issues and his health deteriorated on Saturday. He died on his way to the hospital. Rahim, 60, left behind his wife, two sons and as many daughters.
Meanwhile, Sunny, who was suspended for illegal bowling action by the International Cricket Council, was set to travel to Brisbane, Australia on September 6 for the bowling action test.
