Abzid earns 2.5 points in Chennai Open Chess

A total of 286 players from 17 countries, including 20 GMs, three Women’s GMs, 28 International Masters and four Women’s IMs are participating in the event that began Friday

Mohammad Abzid Rahman of Janata Bank Officer Welfare Society earned 2.5 points after the fourth round games in the 11th Chennai International Open Grandmaster Chess Tournament in Chennai, India. 

Mohammad Masum Rahi of Golden Sporting Club garnered 1.5 points and Ali Ahsan Jewel gathered one point after the fourth round. 

In the fourth round, Abzid beat Konatham Snehil of India, Rahi drew with Vishal Ramprasad of India and Jewel defeated Lakshana Subramaniam of India. 

A total of 286 players from 17 countries, including 20 GMs, three Women’s GMs, 28 International Masters and four Women’s IMs are participating in the event that began Friday.
