Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman of Saif Sporting Club maintained his solo lead in the points table with 7.5 points after the ninth and penultimate round of games at the Omicon 44th National “A” Chess Championship, organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation at the BCF hall room in the second floor of the National Sports Council’s old building.

Four players are third with 5.5 points. They are - GM Reefat bin Sattar of Sheikh Russel, IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin and FM Khandakar Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Navy and Candidate Master Subrata Biswas of Uttara Central Club.
Four players are sharing fourth position with five points each. They are - FM Mohammad Taibur Rahman of Saif Sporting Club, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy, Mohammad Jamal Uddin of Mymensingh and Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Rajbari.
