Six players are sharing second position with 3.5 points each
Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman of Saif Sporting Club is now solely leading the points table with four points after the fifth round of the Omicon 44th National “A” Chess Championship, organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation, at the BCF’s hall-room in the second floor of the National Sports Council’s old building in Dhaka Wednesday.
Six players are sharing second position with 3.5 points each. They are - GM Reefat bin Sattar, Fide Master Mehdi Hasan Parag and Showket Hossain Pollab of Sheikh Russel Club, FM Khandakar Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Navy, Candidate Master Saiful Islam Chowdhury of Sylhet and Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Rajbari.
Three players are sharing third position with three points each. They are International Master Abu Sufian Shakil and FM Shiekh Nasir Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy and CM Subrota Biswas of Uttara Central Club.
Six players earned 2.5 points each and find themselves at joint fourth spot. They are - IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin and CM SM Sharon of Bangladesh Navy, FM Mohammad Taibur Rahman of Saif Sporting Club, CM Ikramul Haq Siam of Titas Club, FM Debaraj Chatterjee and Mohammad Jamal Uddin of Mymensingh.
