The champion and runners-up will be promoted to the 2019 Premier Division Chess League while the bottom two teams will be relegated to the Second Division
The Walton First Division Chess League, organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation, will get underway Thursday.
The 11-day competition will be inaugurated Wednesday and come to an end on November 4. A total of 12 teams will take part in the event.
The champion will receive Tk50,000 while the runners-up side will pocket Tk30,000. The other participating teams will each get Tk20,000.
The participating teams are – Sheikh Russel MSC, Leonine Chess Club, Janata Bank Officer Welfare Society, Hasan Memorial Chess Club, Agrani Bank Chess Club, Debdas Biswas Smriti Sangsad, Bashir Memorial Chess Club, Kasparov Chess Club, Mohakhali Pradeep Sangha, Meer Chess Club, Uttara Central Chess Club and Legend Faraaz Ayaz Chess Team.
