Booters off to Nepal for Fifa friendly

Nepal-Bangladesh Fifa friendly slated for Tuesday

Bangladesh football team left Cambodia for Nepal Friday morning at 9:15am Bangladesh time to take part in their second Fifa friendly against the Himalayan nation, scheduled for Tuesday.

The men in red and green are in buoyant mood following their 1-0 win over the Cambodians last Thursday, thanks to a Rakib Hossain goal in the 23rd minute from a Matin Miah assist.

This was the winger’s first goal in Bangladesh colors since his international bow against Sri Lanka in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup in January, 2020.

Prior to their departure, Bangladesh captain Jamal Bhuiyan expressed optimism of yet another positive result against Nepal.

Through a video message the Bangladesh midfielder said, “We are all happy with Thursday’s victory. Now we are on our way to Nepal. Hope we will win in Nepal as well.”

Bangladesh were scheduled to land in Nepal at 9:15pm.

Following their friendly, Javier Cabrera’s charges will return home Wednesday.
