Arambagh Krira Sangha got severe punishments from Fifa, the highest governing body of football, for being involved in match fixing and other unethical issues. 

During a meeting Thursday the disciplinary committee of Fifa imposed punishments on several former players of the club for their involvement in the aforementioned issues.

Club’s former president Minhazul Islam, team manager Gowher Jahangir Rusho, Indian fitness trainer Maidul Islam Sheikh and assistant team manager Arif Hossain have been banned from football anywhere in the world for life.

Former Indian physio Sanjay Bose and game analyst Azizul Sheikh got banned for 10 years each. 

Among the players Apel Mahmud, Abul Kashem Milon, Al Amin, Mohammad Rocky, Jahid Hossain, Kazi Rahad Mia, Mostafizur Rahman, Omar Faruk, Rakibul Islam, Mehedi Hasan Fahad and Miraz Molla have been banned from any football related activities for one year. 

Club’s Nigerian player Chizoba Christophere is banned for two years while Shamim Reza and Australian defender Christian Smith have been suspended for three years. 

Bangladesh Football Federation in August last year penalized Arambagh and the players involved with betting and fixing.
