If Yusuf impresses in the trial, then he will be selected in the final Bangladesh U-23 squad
England-based midfielder Yusuf Zulquarnain Haque has arrived in Dhaka Tuesday, ahead of his trial with the Bangladesh U-23 side.
If Yusuf, who plays for the U-18 side of English third tier outfit Ipswich Town, impresses in the trial, then he will be selected in the final squad for the upcoming AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers.
Yusuf's trial will be held Wednesday or Thursday, while his Bangladeshi passport will be handed to him soon, and well in time for the qualifiers, scheduled to start on October 27 in Kuwait.
Bangladesh have been pitted in Group D alongside Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan and hosts Kuwait.
The preliminary squad under head coach Maruful Haque has already begun training and it remains to be seen whether Yusuf, whose parents are from Sylhet, has what it takes to play for the Bangladesh U-23 team.
