Tigers to fly to Oman on Oct 3 for T20 WC mission

Most of the players, who are in the T20 World Cup squad, are currently enjoying their vacations but a few of them are practicing individually in Mirpur

Bangladesh cricket team will fly to Oman on October 3 to take part in the qualifying round of the T20 World Cup, starting from next month.

Bangladesh Cricket Board declared the detailed itinerary of Bangladesh team through a press release Tuesday afternoon.

Bangladesh have to play in the qualifying round in Oman to advance to the super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh are in Group B in the qualifying round along with Scotland, Oman and Papua New Guinea.  

The Tigers’ first match will be against Scotland on October 17 before they face hosts Oman and Papua New Guinea.

Most of the players, who are in the T20 World Cup squad, are currently enjoying their vacations but a few of them are practicing individually at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

As many as four players are playing for Bangladesh A team against HP side while Shakib al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman are featuring in the Indian Premier League in Dubai currently. 

National team players will report to the team management on October 1.

The following day they will undergo Covid-19 test.

Upon receiving a negative report on Covid-19 test, players will board the aircraft on October 3 towards Muscat, Oman.  

Players will undergo a  one-day room quarantine in Oman.

Then Tigers will practice in the next four days before flying off to Dubai on October 9 to play two practice matches prior to the qualifying round.

Bangladesh will play against Sri Lanka on October 12 and then against Ireland on October 14.

Later the Tigers will fly back to Oman and take part in the practice session on October 16 before their first match against Scotland on October 17.

The Tigers’ next two matches in the qualifying round will be against Oman on October 19 and against Papua New Guinea on October 21.

If Bangladesh can qualify, then they will fly to the UAE on October 22 to compete in the super 12 stage.
