Bangladesh football in recent times have been leaning towards expatriate footballers to add firepower to the squad, and one more name was included Friday as England-based Yusuf Zulquarnain Haque got called up the 34-member preliminary national U-23 side.
Yusuf, who plays as a midfielder for the U-18 side of English third tier outfit Ipswich Town, will get the chance to showcase his skills in a trial in order to get included in the final squad for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers, scheduled to get underway on October 27 in Kuwait.
Bangladesh, who have been pitted in Group D alongside Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan and hosts Kuwait, will begin their camp for the qualifiers Sunday under head coach Maruful Haque.
