With a record 155-run win in the first game, Bangladesh will look to maintain their dominance and win the second match to secure yet another 10 points in the ICC Men’s World Cup Super League, and the series with a game to spare

A high-flying Bangladesh cricket team will take on hosts Zimbabwe in the second and penultimate ODI at Harare Sports Club Sunday.

With a record 155-run win in the first game, visitors Bangladesh will look to maintain their dominance and win the second match to secure yet another 10 points in the ICC Men’s World Cup Super League, and the series with a game to spare.

The winning margin in the first match was Bangladesh’s biggest by runs in an away ODI.

Bangladesh can also drive confidence from the batting display they showed in the first game.

The tourists had a shaky start losing Tamim Iqbal and Shakib al Hasan early, as the scoreboard soon turned 74 for four.

Right-handed batsman Liton Das amid the pressure pulled off a sensational century and become part of an innings-building 93-run stand with Mahmudullah for the fifth wicket.

Liton registered his fourth ODI hundred, and third against Zimbabwe, as he paced the 102-run innings superbly.

Liton held himself back from being flamboyant, but targeted the bowlers when the opportunity arose.

Afif Hossain batting at No 7 added a crucial 45 to boost Bangladesh's total to par to once again exhibit Zimbabwe’s struggles with the bowling depth.

The pitch at HSC can again be expected to go in favor of the bowlers early in the game but turn flat to aid the batters as the game progresses.

Either way, Bangladesh batters Tamim and Shakib will surely look to take matters in their own hands, and especially in the absence of the vastly experienced Mushfiqur Rahim.

Meanwhile, there shall be no worries for the visiting side with the bowling department.

Shakib, though struggling with the bat, has been sharp with the ball as he led the Bangladesh bowlers with a record five-for in the first match.

With his third five-wicket haul in the format, Shakib emerged as the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in ODIs surpassing Mashrafe bin Mortaza.

Shakib now has 274 wickets in 213 ODIs, while Mashrafe is now in second spot with a tally of 270 wickets in 220 ODIs.

Shakib was complemented well by the pace trio of Taskin Ahmed, Shariful Islam and Saifuddin as they bagged a wicket each.

Bangladesh will not like to break their winning combination, but for Liton.

The wicketkeeper-batsman hurt his wrist during the first game and in case he is not fit, Nurul Hasan might see himself in the playing XI.

Zimbabwe in contrast will look to put in a better batting display.

The hosts did find their way to strong positions, only to slip away later.

Despite the fall of two early wickets in the first game, the home side found veteran Brendan Taylor and Dion Myers come to the act of revival, before Regis Chakabva counter-attacked with a half century.

But amid the efforts from one end of the crease, the rest of the batting caved in at the other end.

Named captain for the series, Taylor would expect the batting unit to bounce back if Zimbabwe are to remain in the competition.

Bangladesh XI [probable]:

Tamim Iqbal (C), Liton Das/Nurul Hasan, Shakib al Hasan, Mohammad Mithun, Mosaddek Hossain, Mahmudullah, Afif Hossain, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Saifuddin, Taskin Ahmed, Shariful Islam
