Doleshwar are just one point behind table-topper Prime Bank
Prime Bank Cricket Club maintained their top position in the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League Twenty20 after nine rounds as they picked up their seventh win beating OLD DOHS Sports Club at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan Monday.
Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club are just one point behind after winning against Legends of Rupganj on the same day at BKSP, while Shinepukur Cricket Club beat Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity.
Prime Bank v Old DOHS
Opener Rony Talukdar’s half century and a joint effort by the bowlers allowed Prime Bank to achieve the 22-run victory at BKSP Ground 3.
Prime Bank went to bat first after losing the toss and found Rony take charge with his 39-ball 54 involving five boundaries and three over boundaries, and despite a middle-order failure, the side posted 147 on the board after 20 overs losing seven wickets.
Rakibul Hasan and Asaduzzaman Payel picked up two wickets apiece for Old DOHS.
Chasing the target, Old DOHS could put up only 125 on the board before running out of overs and losing the final wicket on the last ball of the innings.
Shariful Islam bagged three wickets to lead the Prime Bank bowlers, while Monir Hossain, Alok Kapali and Nahidul Islam took two each.
Mahmudul Hasan Joy’s 26-run innings off 27 balls was the best in the Old DOHS chase.
Rupganj v Doleshwar
Doleshwar bowlers accomplished their job of defending a below par total and secure a 14-run victory against Rupganj at BKSP Ground 4.
Defending 118 runs, Doleshwar bowlers cornered Rupganj to 108 in 20 overs and picked up eight wickets.
The chase for Rupganj was never stable due to dismissal of wickets in short intervals.
Al Amin Jr scored the most in the innings with a 33-ball 30, while pacer Kamrul Islam Rabbi produced the best figure among Doleshwar bowlers grabbing three wickets conceding only 15 runs in his quota of four overs.
Earlier, Doleshwar were invited to bat first and could find only four batsmen score double figure before the innings finishing on 118 all-out in 19.5 overs.
Fazle Mahmud’s knock of 29 off 38 deliveries was the highest in the innings.
Shinepukur v Khelaghar
Shinepukur batters Sazzadul Hoque Ripon and Towhid Hridoy were in the limelight as they recorded their third win of the competition defeating Khelaghar by 15 runs in accordance with the Duckworth/Lewis method at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, Shinepukur posted 154 losing six wickets in 20 overs as Sazzadul added 48 off 34 with three boundaries and as many over boundaries.
Shinepukur captain Towhid complemented the effort adding 46 off 42 laced with five boundaries.
Khelaghar pacer Khaled Ahmed bagged three scalps.
In reply, Khelaghar’s chase was interrupted in the 16th over due to rain and revised D/L score saw the side fall short by 15 runs.
Khelaghar were at 110 for seven wickets when the match ended and the result was induced by D/L method.
Opener Sadikur Rahman’s 31-run innings off 23 was the best in Khelaghar innings.
