Pakistan U-19 team’s tour of Bangladesh has been shelved due to the upsurge of Covid-19 cases in the country.
Both Bangladesh Cricket Board and Pakistan Cricket Board have mutually come to the decision, informed BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury.
Vistors Pakistan U-19 were initially scheduled to reach Dhaka Monday.
But concerns due to Covid-19 and a "light-hearted countrywide lockdown" pushed the arrival date by five days.

“Considering the overall situation, we are in constant touch with the PCB. We are planning to hold the series in a suitable time. Once we feel that Bangladesh is able to host international teams, and when the situation is in our favor, we will arrange the tour immediately,” said Nizamuddin to the media Saturday.
Bangladesh is also scheduled to host Sri Lanka national cricket team in May for a three-match ODI series.
The series will be preceded by Bangladesh's tour of Sri Lanka for two Tests for which the team are scheduled to depart for the island nation Monday.
When queried if the ODI series against Sri Lanka is also under threat, the BCB CEO said the series is on schedule at the moment.
“According to the Future Tours Program of International Cricket Council, the Sri Lanka team are scheduled to tour Bangladesh. We are expecting Sri Lanka to arrive in Bangladesh in mid-May to take part in the three-ODI series. So far Sri Lanka is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh in mid-May and we are going to host the three ODIs in later part of May. We have set the program keeping everything in consideration. But still if there is any issue we will take steps according to the situation,” said Nizamuddin.
