The Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh took a turn for the worse recently, and especially in the last few days, with spike in both daily cases and number of deaths, thus resulting in the government's decision to impose a lockdown starting from Monday.
As of now however, the Games will go on despite the lockdown, informed Bashir Ahmed Mamun, chairman of the Games' steering committee.

Since a lot of event finals will take place right till April 4, the Games will go on until then," said Bashir.
The Games got underway officially Thursday with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina virtually declaring the Games open amid a colourful opening ceremony.
