Bangladesh Blue team have confirmed a berth in the final of the ongoing 9th Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games women’s cricket event.
The Blue team won the first two games to confirm a spot in the medal-decider of the event.
The Blue side defeated Bangladesh Green team by nine wickets to register their second win in the competition at Sylhet International Stadium Monday.
Batting first, Green team were restricted to 83 in 39.5 overs as captain Sharmin Sultana scored the highest 19.
Sanjida Islam added 14 runs to the tally, while Rumana Ahmed and Disha Biswas scored 12 each.
Memtahen led the Blue team's bowling table with four wickets for 22 runs.
Left-arm seamer Fariha Trishna bagged six wickets as Bangladesh Blue got off to a winning start in the 9th Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games.Sports Tribune on Saturday, 6 March 2021
Pacer Jahanara Islam and spinner Salma Khatun picked up two wickets each.
Chasing the easy target, openers Murshida Khatun and Shamima Sultana put on 58 for the opening stand before Sanjida Meghla broke the pair.
Meghla removed Murshida for 24 but that did not damage much to the Blue’s sail towards the target.
Shamima remained unbeaten on 30 while Fargana Hoque was not out on 21 to complete the chase.
Green team will face Bangladesh Red side tomorrow at the same venue to decide the second finalist of the event.
Both Green and Red team have played a game each in the event, and are winless.
