The three-team competition in the Bangladesh Games this year will begin Saturday in Sylhet
Bangladesh Cricket Board Tuesday declared three women’s teams – Red, Blue and Green - for the upcoming Bangladesh Games.
For the first time, women’s cricket has been included as a discipline in the games.
The three-team competition in the Bangladesh Games this year will begin Saturday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
The women cricketers from the national fold were involved in a camp in Sylhet as cricket returned to the field in the country since the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 32 cricketers then had a week-long camp in Dhaka before they went back to Sylhet for the Bangladesh Games.
The selected cricketers from Bangladesh U-19 girls’ camp, also held in Sylhet, will join their respective teams in Bangladesh Games teams.
“A total of 32 cricketers travelled to Sylhet from Dhaka and the U-19 cricketers who got selected have stayed back in Sylhet,” informed BCB women’s wing in-charge Towhid Mahmud to the media.
The three teams – Red, Green and Blue - consist of cricketers from the national squad, emerging squad and U-19 side.
