Saif Sporting held by Rahmatganj

Saif Sporting Club were held to a 1-1 draw in their Bangladesh Premier League opener by Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Saturday.

The clash between the last two Federation Cup losing finalists saw early action as Saif went ahead in the 18th minute when Nigerian John Okoli’s shot went in after a deflection off a Rahmatganj defender.

Rahmatganj brought parity in the 40th minute through Ivory Coast forward Chris Remi and could’ve taken the lead in the 56th minute but Remi was denied by Saif goalkeeper Pappu Hossain from the penalty spot after the Ivorian was upended inside the box.
