Bangladesh Cricket Board will offer central contract to the national cricketers based on performance in the next few series.
BCB cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan informed that the analysis of the cricketers will be done in the series against the West Indies, set to start at home later this month, followed by imminent tours of New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh are returning to international cricket after a break of 10 months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We offer the contracts based on the performance of the cricketers. But this time there has been no cricket [last year] and thus we could not asses the performance. We will take a decision based on the performances from the upcoming series,” said Akram to the media Sunday.

Five new cricketers were made part of the central contract last year, while seven names were axed, including Shakib al Hasan and Mashrafe bin Mortaza.
The central contract last year saw the board introduce new terms offering two separate contracts, for white- and red-ball cricket.
Given that there has been no cricket for Bangladesh due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the board has decided to retain the contract from last year for the first few months this year to allow the cricketers play in order to assess them.
