Mominul is likely to be ruled out for three to four weeks
Gazi Group Chattogram batsman Mominul Haque has been ruled out of the remainder of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup after incurring an injury during their match Saturday against Gemcon Khulna at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The 29-year old hurt his right thumb while fielding in the 18th over off the bowling of left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, and suffered a fracture after undergoing scan.
The left-handed batsman is likely to be ruled out for three to four weeks following consultation with BCB physician Dr. Debashish Chowdhury.
Despite the injury, the Bangladesh Test captain came out to bat and remained unbeaten on five off seven balls as Chattogram registered their second win in a row.
The port city outfit will take on Fortune Barishal in the afternoon game Monday in Mirpur.
