Bangladesh play final warm-up Saturday

Bangladesh will take on Qatar’s second division outfit Lusail Sports Club Saturday in their second and final practice match before facing the Asian champion and 2022 World Cup host. 

The game will kick off at the Al Aziziyah Boutique ground located in the Aspire Zone in Doha at 8:30pm Bangladesh time.

The men in red and green earlier conceded a 3-2 defeat against Qatar Military SA in the first friendly Wednesday. 

Mohammad Ibrahim and Mathew Bablu scored for the visiting side. 

The team are boosted by the joining of Nabib Newaj Jibon as the Abahani Limited striker tested Covid-19 negative upon his arrival two days earlier after recovering from knee injury.

It was gloomy environs in the contingent after BFF president Kazi Salahuddin tested Covid-19 positive 10 days after head coach Jamie Day, who is still isolated in Dhaka. 

All members prayed for the speedy recovery of Salahuddin and Day in lunch time.

“This practice match is a chance for us to see how we would play against Qatar, what our tactics be, and how our preparation is,” said assistant coach Masud Parvez Kaiser after the morning training session. 

Bangladesh will play the host in their fifth World Cup and Asian Cup joint qualifying Group E match on December 4.
