BFF president Salahuddin talked about the change in the recruitment of national team manager while hinting at amendment in the pre-selection procedure of the team
Bangladesh football team already began training after the preliminary squad and names of the new and old coaching staff were announced but the manager’s name is yet to be decided for November’s Fifa friendlies against Nepal.
BFF president Kazi Salahuddin talked about the change in the recruitment of national team manager while hinting at amendment in the pre-selection procedure of the team.
“It is not finalized yet who would be the next manager but we are discussing, we want to have a professional manager, not a tactical one,” said the BFF chief before adding, “It requires opinion of national team committee after the sit up, you will get a clear-cut picture.”
Former national footballer and also BFF committee member Satyajit Das Rupu has been the manager of both senior and Olympic team in the last two years.
His predecessors, Amirul Islam Babu and Iqbal Hossain were also from the executive committee.
“My personal opinion is not to assign anyone from the board. If we do so then what is Rupu’s fault. Nobody is more experienced than him in the board. I don’t think the new manager would be from the board,” said Salahuddin.
The four-time BFF president also hinted changes in the procedure of national team selection.
“We may form an initial screening or selection committee to select players for the camp. But once the players are in the camp, it’s up to the coach to decide everything. It’s too early to say because I need to talk with national team committee before giving a concrete verdict,” said Salahuddin.
