Jamie Day completed the 18-month long course two months ago, only wait was for the official recognition which the Bangladesh coach got Thursday from Irish Football Association, taking him into the prestigious Uefa Pro club.
The British tactician started the journey in late 2018 after Fifa made it mandatory for national team head coaches to have Uefa Pro certificate, initially from 2019, later relaxing the requirement till 2021.
The coach reacted to Dhaka Tribune from his London residence.
“Well I completed a few months ago but just got the certificate [Thursday]. I am delighted to have achieved the top award in football coaching. It's been hard work to get to this point but been a fantastic journey. I am now looking to progress further with my coaching and hopefully use this to develop the national team of Bangladesh over the next two years,” said Jamie.
Jamie joined as Bangladesh head coach in May, 2018.
