India left-handed batsman Suresh Raina has followed his long-time former captain and teammate Mahendra Singh Dhoni into international retirement, revealing the news on social media Saturday.
The 33-year old Raina, famous for inside out shots for India and Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League Twenty20, last played international cricket for his country two years ago.
Raina played a total of 18 Tests matches, 226 ODIs and 78 T20Is and was part of the World Cup-winning squad in 2011.
The Uttar Pradesh cricketer, who shared the dressing room with Dhoni for a significant amount of time in the IPL, wrote on social media, “It was nothing but lovely playing with you, @mahi7781 . With my heart full of pride, I choose to join you in this journey. Thank you India. Jai Hind!”
