Bangladesh Football Federation has brought to an end the residential practice camp of the national team soon after the World Cup and Asian Cup joint qualifying matches originally scheduled for October and November got postponed to next year.
The camp that began at Sarah Resort in Sreepur, Gazipur on August 5 was hit hard by Covid-19 as many as 18 players out of a total of 36 tested positive in the initial check-ups.
The BFF arranged Covid-19 tests again twice for each player at two different places Monday, and the results were revealed Wednesday, with the number of coronavirus affected players reduced to seven.
Mathews Bablu, Rabiul Hasan, Faysal Ahmed Fahim, Tutul Hossain Badshah, Shahidul Alam Sohel, Anisur Rahman Zico and Bishwanath Ghosh are the players who tested positive in both reports of Praava Health and ICDDRB, said a media release from BFF.
Three players - Riyadul Hasan Rafi, Rayhan Hasan and Rakib Hossain - found their result positive from one institution and negative on the other, the statement added.
BFF has decided to keep the 10 players under observation while the rest of the members in the camp are to be released Thursday.
