Bashundhara Kings announced their new signing Robson Azevedo da Silva Robinho for the AFC Cup and forthcoming football season as the Brazilian winger is all set to join the Bangladesh side on loan from Fluminense FC for a year.

The 25-year old left winger is the replacement of Costa Rican forward Daniel Colindres, who left the club two months ago after shining brightly in his debut season with Independence Cup and Bangladesh Premier League titles.

“We have reached an agreement with historical Brazilian football club Fluminense for a season-long loan deal [with Robinho],” stated the club on their facebook page yesterday.

Imrul Hasan, the president of the Kings, hoped that Robinho would shine better than Colindres and build a deadly combination with Hernan Barcos, the Argentine striker who netted four goals in his AFC Cup debut against TC Sports of Maldives on March 12.

The contract with Robinho will end in July next year and during this time, the Brazilian winger is expected to play the AFC Cup, the premier league, Federation Cup and Independence Cup in Kings’ jersey.

Robinho joined Fluminense from Atibaia SP in August 2017 and since then he played for some Brazilian clubs in Serie A and Serie B.

He scored eight goals in 72 matches, including 15 appearances for Fluminense, according to transfermarkt.

It is not the first loan signing of the Kings who earlier brought in Lebanese striker Jalal Kdouh at the beginning of the 2019-20 season.

Striker Marcos Vinicius was the club’s first Brazilian signing who netted the team’s second highest goals (14) after Colindres in his debut season during 2018-19.
