Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal emphasized on the importance of resuming the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League when the coronavirus pandemic gets better.

Bangladesh Cricket Board suspended this year’s premier 50-over tournament of the country on March 16 owing to the Covid-19 situation in the country, and has been observing the scenario ever since.

Later on April 15, Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis decided to postpone the tournament for indefinite time.

Tamim, while speaking Live on Facebook Wednesday on the coronavirus situation and what should be done once things get normal said, “Most importantly, we need to start the domestic cricket. Because I personally think there should be domestic cricket before every international match.

“This domestic cricket is very important, especially in Bangladesh. About 70-80% of our cricketers earn their living through this Premier League. This Premier League is very important for our players economically.”

Bangladesh has been in unofficial lockdown since March 26.

Tamim informed that he has been at home since, playing with his children and streaming online shows.

“My day starts exercising for an hour but that has now changed due to Ramadan. I used to run, do some workout with the equipment that I have at home. Luckily I have a treadmill, so I can run. Later, for most part of the day, I give time to the kids,” said Tamim.

“I am surviving on Netflix and Amazon Prime. During the time of Ramadan, I wake up, play with the kids and watch movies. I start to train an hour before the call to prayer and iftar, that way it becomes easy to fast,” added the opening batsman.
