Mohammad Ammar, who played mixed doubles in last year’s National Badminton Championship, informed that they distributed daily food essentials and medicines to 300 families in three districts as part of the campaign after collecting donations of Tk2 lakhs.
A group of shuttlers under the banner of Manobshebay Badminton has launched a fund raising initiative in a bid to help the less privileged people who are struggling to survive amid the lockdown throughout the country.
Mohammad Ammar, who played mixed doubles in last year’s National Badminton Championship, informed that they distributed daily food essentials and medicines to 300 families in three districts as part of the campaign after collecting donations of Tk2 lakhs.
He also informed that some 15 shuttlers went to haor area of Sunamganj to help the farmers harvest the paddy field for three days to promote the facebook campaign.
“We are also helping some national shuttlers who are facing trouble due to the lockdown,” said Ammar.
He added, “Former and current players, coaches, staffs, friends and well-wishers all came forward to support the initiative.”
