Whether they face giants, minnows or mid-table sides, Brothers Union always seem to get the same result.

The Gopibagh outfit were held to their fourth 1-1 draw at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Friday, this time by Police Football Club who made their topflight debut four months ago.

Police’s in-form local recruit MS Bablu cancelled out the lead Brothers had taken through a brilliant free-kick by Uzbekistan forward Jonov Otabek in the eighth minute.

Brothers now have four points in five matches, while Police have six.

Bablu was lucky to score in the 22nd minute when a clearance by Ivorian defender Lancing Toure fell kindly for him, allowing him to smash it in from close range.

Brothers held former champion Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and Abahani Limited to draws in the first two matches, before being pipped by a thrilling 3-2 loss by reigning champion Bashundhara Kings.

They were then held by newly promoted Uttar Baridhara Club in the last match.

Police, who beat Baridhara 2-1 in their last tie, have goalkeeper Saiful Islam Khan to thank for salvaging a point against Brothers.

Saiful made at least three fine saves, including two powerful attempts by Otabek in the 57th minute and added time.
