Around 30 players from the Bangladesh Football Federation training camp didn’t get any club in the Women’s Football League, including midfielder Marzia Akter and forward Shamsunnahar, who played for the senior team during the South Asian Football Federation Championship last year.

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra talked to around 15 members from the camp before withdrawing their participation last week which saw most of those players left with no club including national youth team members like Anuching Mogini, Anai Mogini, Nazma Akter and Sajeda Khatun.

Almost all 23 players of the Saff squad signed for Bashundhara Kings except two – goalkeeper Yasmin Akter and forward Razia Khatun – who joined Nasrin Sports Club on the deadline day.

“Notable players like Marzia, Sajeda, Nazma, Anuching and Anai are not playing in the league. Other clubs couldn’t match the salary Sheikh Russel offered earlier before withdrawing. They left the camp and returned to their camp for vacation,” said national team assistant coach Mahbubur Rahman Litu.

Representatives of clubs like Nasrin SC and Begum Anowara SC informed that they couldn’t sign the players of BFF camp due to lack of funds.
