Junior Tigers begin U-19 WC campaign Saturday

Bangladesh U-19 cricket team will begin their U-19 World Cup campaign Saturday when they take on their Zimbabwean counterparts in Potchefstroom at 2pm, Bangladesh standard time.

The junior Tigers have been dominant against the African nation, losing just once in 13 attempts but the former will be wary of the favorite tag after Afghanistan U-19 threw the tournament wide open on the opening day Friday, beating host South Africa U-19 by seven wickets in Kimberley.

The youngsters in red and green will be confident of their chances in the 13th edition of the age-level competition after winning 18 matches in 33 attempts in the last two years.

Bangladesh however, received a setback before their opening game as pacer and strike bowler Mrittunjoy Chowdhury sufferd an injury.

The junior Tigers will also lock horns with Scotland and Pakistan in the university city of Potchefstroom Tuesday and Friday respectively.
