The Tigers had a disappointing 2019 and it reflected in the International Cricket Council awards, as none of the Bangladesh players were in the list of awardees.

India’s Rohit Sharma was named the ODI Cricketer of the Year while his compatriot Virat Kohli was chosen as the captain in both the Test and ODI Team of the Year.

India seamer Deepak Chahar’s miserly bowling figure of 6/7 against Bangladesh was chosen as the T20I Performance of the Year while Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne was named Emerging Cricketer of the Year after a memorable summer of Test cricket against Pakistan and New Zealand, and in the Ashes.

Scotland’s Kyle Coetzer was named the Associate Cricketer of the Year while Kohli scooped the Spirit of Cricket Award after stopping the fans booing Australia’s Steve Smith at the Oval.

England’s Richard Illingworth was named the Umpire of the Year.
