Brothers Union have appointed Iran-born German tactician Reza Parkas as the new head coach of the club for the current season.

The 50-year old coach was officially unveiled at the club premises Tuesday.

Parkas replaced Mohidur Rahman, who guided the Gopibagh outfit in the ongoing TVS Federation Cup where they saw the exit door from the group stage after losing both encounters against Bashundhara Kings and Chittagong Abahani Limited.

“Brothers have experienced and junior players. The junior ones are motivated and willing to learn as I have seen them in the last few days (including the Federation Cup). The longer I stay in the club the more I would know about them. My goal is development of the club,” Parkas said at the contract-signing ceremony.

Parkas coached clubs in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Iran and Germany with his previous role of assistant manager being at Iranian top-flight club Sanat Naft Abadan since 2018.

Brothers’ previous foreign head coach was Syed Nayeemuddin, who left the club at the middle of the league last season where they eventually finished 11th out of 13 teams under Mohidur.
