Uttar Baridhara Club bowed out of the Federation Cup after losing 1-0 to Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Saturday.
This is Mohammedan’s first win in three attempts as the Motijheel-based club kept alive their hope of qualifying for the quarter-final.
The Black and Whites, who last won the Fed Cup in 2009, now have five points from three games in Group D after drawing their first two matches against Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra.
Both Sheikh Russel and Muktis have four points each from two matches apiece, while Baridhara exited the season opening tournament after their third loss in a row.

Malian booter Suleymane Diabate scored the all-important goal in the eighth minute after intercepting a back pass from a Baridhara defender and stroking home.
Diabate could have doubled the lead in the 55th minute but he shot over the Baridhara goalkeeper from close range while Mohammedan’s Stanley Amadi’s header in the 76th minute came back off the crossbar.
Diabate got another golden opportunity in the dying stages of the game but in a one-on-one situation with the Baridhara keeper, the former’s shot flew inches over the bar.
