The Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 shifts from Chittagong to Dhaka Friday as Dhaka Platoon face Chattogram Challengers and Khulna Tigers take on Rangpur Rangers at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital.

Chattogram are at the top of the seven-team points table with 10 points from seven matches, two more than third-placed Dhaka, who have played a game less.

A win for Dhaka would take them top, ahead of Chattogram, due to a superior net run rate.

In order for that to happen though, Dhaka must negotiate Chattogram left-arm seamer Mehedi Hasan Rana, who is in the form of his life having taken 13 wickets in five innings at a miserly average of 9.46.

Rana is at the top of the list of the highest wicket takers.

On the other hand, Khulna are down in fourth with six points from five matches while Rangpur are at the bottom with two points from the same number of games as the former.

In comparison, Rangpur are more desperate than Khulna for the two points that will see the former move out of the bottom.

Rangpur however, will be wary of the threat posed by Kolpak player Rilee Rossouw, who has scored 259 runs in five innings at an impressive average of 86.33.

Former South African batsman Rossouw is the second highest run-scorer thus far.

Dhaka will face off against Chattogram at 2pm while Khulna will lock horns with Rangpur at 7pm.

The port city saw two centuries from Sylhet Thunder’s Andre Fletcher and Cumilla Warriors’ Dawid Malan while the bowlers also impressed with good spells in what were fascinating battles between bat and ball.

The crowd also came in numbers, something the BPL governing council hopes will be repeated in Dhaka as well.
