The other players are India’s Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni (selected captain of the side), South Africa’s Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers, England’s Jos Buttler, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, Australia’s Mitchell Starc, New Zealand’s Trent Boult and Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan, who was selected in the Wisden men’s ODI team of the decade earlier this month, has now been included in the ODI team of the decade declared by Cricket Australia Wednesday.

Shakib, the second-highest wicket-taker in one-day cricket this decade, who was tremendous in the World Cup this year, has played 131 ODIs in this decade, and picked up 177 wickets, at an average of 30.15.

He scored 4,276 runs at an average of 38.87 in those matches.

According to the official website of CA, Shakib may not possess the strike power of the other batsmen in the Bangladesh side, but he’s been a consistent performer with the bat in the team that has offered him precious little support at times over the past decade.

Throw in his potent left-arm spin and he’s a hard man to overlook.
