Khulna Tigers' Friday's hero Rilee Rossouw, who struck an unbeaten 66 to guide his side to an eight-wicket win over Rangpur Rangers, spoke with the media after the game
Khulna Tigers are on a roll, registering their third win in a row in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 Friday, at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. Their Friday's hero Rilee Rossouw, who struck an unbeaten 66 to guide his side to an eight-wicket win over Rangpur Rangers, spoke with the media after the media. Here are the excerpts:
What did that celebration mean after you scored fifty?
It was just one of those days when you find the middle of the bat. I thought I had so much of time out there which I did not have for a long time. Last time I felt so good was when I scored a 300 in a four-day game. So everything was just hitting to the middle of my bat. About the celebration, one of the celebrations in Playstation Fifa game is like that. I had told the boys I will celebrate that way if I score a fifty.
How do you evaluate bowling of Mustafizur Rahman, Arafat Sunny and Taksin Ahmed in the game?
It is difficult if you do not have momentum in this game [format]. They have lost three in a row and now four. It is difficult to get to the momentum and bowl at good pace. Mustafiz was quick but you need someone to stand up and change momentum in the field. The Bangladesh players you mentioned are all experienced and I am sure they will bounce back. They are professionals. Was not their day may be, but I am sure they will come back.
They looked ordinary against you…
Not at all. Like I said it was my day. I was just in the zone. I saw the ball nice and big and got to hit them from the middle of the bat. It was just unfortunate that they were on the receiving end.
You were consistent in the last BPL and it looks the same this season...
I do not think there is any secret behind it. I believe you have to enjoy what you do, instead of making it a job, try to be the best that you can be. Pretty fortunate that I have a team that is behind me. So there is no secret. I am very calm and relaxed. If it is my day, it is my day. Then there is the next game. So keeping it level head, keeping it nice and calm, believing in the process.
Threat for Khulna in coming days...
Any team can beat any team on the day. It is difficult to say. We need to keep being constant and play good cricket. And with Mushy (Mushfiqur Rahim) leading us, I am sure he is pretty intense when it comes to playing consistent cricket and staying at the top of your game. So there is no easy game in this format. We all know. Hope we are consistent and that takes us to the final.
